Kompresi Ayat Pada Aplikasi Buku Ende Menggunakan Algoritma Arithmetic Coding

Abstract

Untuk melakukan sebuah proses kompresi pada ayat, ada beberapa algoritma yang dikembangkan untuk berbagai teknik pengompresian, namun belum ada satupun algoritma yang tepat untuk mengompresi ayat ini dikarenakan karakteristik atau jumlah setiap ayat tersebut, sedangkan banyak algoritma kompresi data yang  memanfaatkan struktur ayat tersebut pada proses kompresi, ini mengakibatkan hanya pada ayat tertentu saja suatu algoritma dapat digunakan untuk mengkompresi. Pada penelitian ini penulis membahas tentang kompresi ayat pada sebuah aplikasi buku ende, yaitu dengan menggunakan algoritma arithmetic coding, algoritma ini dipilih karena bersifat lossless yang pada umumnya digunakan untuk teks dan dapat mengembalikan data seperti sedia kala.
